I have never been a big fan of pennlive.com (or any of the Advance sites like nj.com). The site, which hosts content from the Patriot-News, has never been terribly well organized (try finding the Penn State football section) and doesn’t run photos, which is a no-no in this multimedia world we live in. Right now, it seems that it is also in between an old and new design, making the site even harder to get around.
I will give credit when credit is due though, they taking a good step with the Penn State football videos. Not only do they have video now, they allow users to embed it on their blogs, Web sites, etc.
YouTube has shown there is a demand for this kind of feature and media companies who are not moving in this direction are missing out. The Web professional in me notes that the should have an ad appear before the content in the video and a Web ad appear in the player.
