New-Look Nationals Raise Hope, Questions – The Post
On paper, the Nationals had a very good week at the winter meetings, acquiring younger, cheaper talent with higher ceilings. Veterans Ryan Zimmerman and Austin Kearns say they are pleased. Other than the Elijah Dukes trade, I am too.
The club also heads to spring training with John Patterson, Shawn Hill, Jason Bergmann, Matt Chico, John Lannan, Garrett Mock and Ross Detwiler all in the mix for spots in the rotation. All of them are under 30 years old.
The Plan just might work, but probably not this year.
