Senators Swept Up by Capitals – The Post
Short-handed Caps get sweep – The Wash. Times
Perhaps the worst part about our Nation’s Capitals digging such a big hole for themselves before Thanksgiving is that if they found their way into the 8th spot, they’d get to play Ottawa. Last night, the Caps finished off the season sweep of the Eastern Conference leading Senators. Why can’t they play like this against La Coupe Hauxer teams?
I caught most of the last two periods of the game, an exiting one. Alexander Semin had two goals, Alex Ovechkin had one (the game winner) and an assist and Mike Green had a beauty off of a Viktor Kozlov pass.
Meanwhile digging out the hole might be harder without Michael Nylander, who finally decided that playing with a torn rotator cuff (The Post) is not working.
Lastly, Mike Wise wants Olie Kolzig to come back, sub .900 save percentage and all. Kolzig doesn’t sound too impressed with Bruce Boudreau. The long-time “unofficial captain” is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. I hope something works out too, but Kolzig needs to start stopping more shots.
