Let the games begin – Florida Today
The first spring training game of the season is tonight at 7:05. The Nationals head to Jupiter to take on the Marlins. Tomorrow afternoon, they host Georgetown University. Matt Chico will pitch the first two innings.

López Begins His Climb From Last Year’s Depths – The Post
Did you know that Felipe López had an awful family? I did not. Anyway, he has said that last year is already behind him. Problems with family, though not immediate family, contributed to his terrible 2007 season. He is battling for a job in the middle infield where there are three players for two positions.

Wow, a column about the Nationals from The Post. Boswell is very grumpy about the ballpark situation, setting himself up for a “wow, everything is really great, they overcame it all, blah blah blah, column” after Opening Night.
Spring training report – The Wash. Times
I am pleased to learn that 33 is unofficially retired for Frank Howard. Frank Robinson‘s 20 is also not being given out either. In fact, those two numbers and one other are the only ones below 93 that are not being used in camp. The other number? Well, let’s just say if you hoping to see Robert Fick‘s 13 hanging on the outfield wall, you can still hold on to that dream.
GWU Team Will Be First Up at New Stadium – The Post
The first game at the ballpark will be George Washington University vs. Saint Joseph’s University on March 22. It will be the dry run before the dry run on the March 29 against Baltimore.
