I need a miracle!

Let’s see if I can pull this off without sounding like Can the Cubs Mend My Broken Heart?.

Yesterday evening, I got an email from the Nationals informing I was unsuccessful in my attempt to buy Opening Night tickets. Several friends and family also got the same email, so I’ve been shut out. So, I’m left to ask, “got any extras?”

I have been blogging about D.C. baseball non-stop since the spring of 2004. Back then, this blog was new and I was posting about D.C. baseball as a “triumph of hope over experience.” I grew up in Vienna, Va. never having had a hometown team, wondering when MLB would come to their senses. I made it to several exhibition games at RFK over the years, but that was only for an afternoon at a time. I never did get to pull of the “Ferris Buellar’s Day Off” fantasy of skipping school for a day downtown and a baseball game. When we finally got a team, I was ecstatic.

So, if you have an extra ticket, consider selling it to the guy who has been blogging about the Nats longer than any one else. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t think that was too bad. I spared you a photo of me in a Little League Senators uniform.
