The Nats piled on Jamie Moyer early and built up a 6-1 lead, but squandered it. The Phillies came back, went up 7-6, but the Nats tied it. It went to the tenth inning with Jesus Colome walking the last three batters, the first two intentionally, after his failure to cover third base allowed Jimmy Rollins to steal to advance. The final walk proved the game winner for Philly.
So, the Nats stand at 3-1 while the Fleas are 1-2. I have a 2-1 lead in the 3rd Annual Cheesesteak/Half-smoke Challenge, but would have much preferred a 3-0 record.
It is on to St. Louis for the Nats.
Hopefully, the Capitals will fare better tonight.
