The Nats had three home runs (Aaron Boone, Nick Johnson and Austin Kearns — Ryan Zimmerman nearly had one too), but couldn’t hold a lead. Houston came from behind four times to beat Washington on a night when the bullpen faltered and starter RHP Shawn Hill only go through 5 1/3 innings. The winning run came on a double past a diving Kearns in the eighth inning.

Prior to last night’s loss, the bullpen had been doing well of late, going 6-0 with a 3.96 ERA over the last ten games.
Pitching coach Randy St. Claire does not like to use relievers after they have pitched 40 pitches over a two day period.
