The team is dreadful right now. I will acknowledge that there are injuries, but the guys who are hurt were not exactly tearing it up. This is inexcusable in year 1 of a new ballpark. Somebody needs to take the fall here — how about Jim Bowden, someone Nationals Enquirer noted may be on the hot seat.

On to Pittsburgh, where the Pirates are approaching mediocrity. The Nats need at least one victory in this series so that I can win my bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle from the Maryland Bureau Chief.
