Rebuttal: Wally Richardson jersey

Occasional blogger Brad Stratton of Heated Sprinkles has once again libeled me by saying that I owned a Wally Richardson jersey. Quite clearly, and I said so at the time, I indicated it was a Todd Blackledge jersey.

Now, I was hard on Richardson, and in retrospect, I was unfair to him. Wally, you have my apologies. I should have appreciated your 21-5 record and not focused so much on the fact that you were particularly adept at throwing (with an extreme overhand delivery) bullets at wide receivers’ feet. Stratton thinks you threw the ball over receivers heads, so once again his credibility comes into question. It is about winning, and to this day, Wally Richardson has the best winning percentage of any QB since I enrolled at Penn State.

Further straining Stratton’s credibility is his own jersey purchases. In 1996, he bought a “39” jersey. In 2004, he bought a “33” jersey. Now, is he one throw stones about jersey purchases?

By the way, did you know that Wally’s younger brother William Richardsonis a Coastal Carolina quarterback?

Only Chris Bell Doug Strang until football. Good luck finding a Doug Stang photograph though.
