Contract Status Not An Issue For Acta – The Post
Nationals Manager Manny Acta saying he is not concerned that his 2010 contract extension has not been picked up. From where I sit there are two reasons for this:
- The Nats lost 102 games last year and can almost not help but get better. I expect that to happen and Acta to be renewed before June
- If he is not renewed, a number of other teams, possibly the Mets, would be quite happy to have him in their dugout. Some might let him pick his own staff, too.
If I was forced to make decision on whether to give Acta a contract extension for 2010 or not right now, I would.
