Nationals sign Kip Wells to minor league deal

The Nationals signed veteran Kip Wells to a minor league deal. Wells is best known for pitching for nearly every Central Division team (both leagues) but not the Reds — phew. He was most successful with Pittsburgh under pitching coach Spin Williams, now minor league pitching coordinator for the Nationals. Between him and Randy St. Claire, maybe they can get Wells back to is former mediocrity and get him to eat some innings. Overall, this is a typical Nats low-risk, decent reward signing — aside from the fact Wells never wore a wishbone C or bird on his cap.

Pirate fans, anything to add about Wells?
