Bos on Martis, Zimmermann and the other pitchers

The Young-Armed Nats, Out on a LimbThe Post
Boswell talks about the Nats young pitching and notes that it could make or break Manny Acta‘s job. He makes a good point, one that Acta seemingly undestands as well. In discussing young potential phenoms Shairon Martis and Jordan Zimmermann, Boswell throws out the first few years of Tom Glavine and John Smoltz in the majors. Those two are an exceptional case though because unfortunately, pitching is hard to predict and statistially speaking, Zimmermann and Martis are probably more likely to be like, Wade Taylor, Jeff Johnson, and Scott Kamieniecki. If you don’t remember who those three guys are and who they were suppossed to save, well that’s my point.
