Capitals Lose but Still Win – The Post
Last night’s loser point against Buffalo (4-5 loss in OT) meant the Capitals clinched the Southeast Division again. They missed a chance to extend their lead over New Jersey for the Eastern Conference second seed, but still control their own destiny for the #2 spot.
Penn State basketball’s NIT championship run took up some of the time I would have normally blogged about our Nation’s Capitals. Since I last mentioned them, they had a pretty mediocre March but went 6-2-2 in their last ten games. Alex Ovechkin also got in a duel with CBC Hockey Night in Canada’s Don Cherry over celebrations. Cherry’s real issue of course is that a non-Anglophone Canadian is the league’s biggest star, so I thought Ovechkin lowering himself to Cherry’s was disappointing. That is why I did not not post about it when it was happening, it was just a waste of time.
On another note, the Caps are in first place in La Coupe Hauxer right now with some likely playoff matchups between the four participating teams likely.
