Nats send slumping Milledge to minors – The Free Lance-Star
On the one hand, sending Lastings Milledge down to AAA is satisfying because of how poorly he has been playing centerfield (better on Monday though) and batting leadoff. This means we’ll see a better outfield for awhile and Josh Willingham and Austin Kearns will get to play more frequently and Elijah Dukes will be the starter in center. On the other hand, Milledge was out of position in centerfield and in the batting order — Manny Acta‘s decision to give him those spots without earning them has not made it easier.

The pitching is still pretty rotten. How said that Daniel “DC Cab” Cabrera‘s 4 runs (only one earned) over five innings the other day was the best performance of the season.
EDITORIAL – Better Days – The Post
A bold editorial — the Nats won’t go 0-162! I wonder how this is going go over in the Natmosphere:
What’s more certain is that the well-being of a city’s ball team depends on a solid core of followers who appreciate the game for what it is in its essence: a game of moments rather than pennants, a collection of individual experiences that last just a moment on the late-night news but a lifetime in the recollections of those who witnessed them.
I kind of agree with it, but then again I’m still too much in the “bad baseball is better than no baseball” crowd.
