Young, an All-Star in 2007, Likely Finished With Club – The Post
Quad tear ends Young’s year – The Wash. Times
Another one of Jim Bowden’s inspirational stories friends who got an irresponsible contract from the former GM is done with Washington. Dmitri Young, the NL Comeback Player of the Year, is out for the rest of his second season of his $10-million contract with a quad tear. Young was a nice story until he signed the contract and spent the winter not having anything to do with baseball, gaining more weight than was healthy for him. He played a mere 50 games during the life of his contract, none of them this year. I don’t blame him for signing that outragoeus contract, I blame Bowden for offering it to him.
