A certain individual who will remain nameless texted me from Nationals Park that “Dutch had a fabulous triple.” That’s great news, but Dutch?! Seriously, that is so 2005, we haven’t used that in several seasons, having failed to catch on despite a valiant effot by the Natmosphere (which seems to have placed second to Natosphere, sadly). Thankfully, DC Sports Bog is on top of this kind of thing. Yesterday, the Bogger Dan Steinberg went to the latest Nats player at ESPN Zone appearance featuring Nyjer Morgan, Washington’s new centerfielder. Morgan is also known as Tony Plush, his “gentlemen’s name.” Morgan, I’m sorry, Plush has issued nicknames to several of his teammates:
Willie Harris –> Sweet Ricky Plum
Elijah Dukes –> Charlie Chirplin
Ryan Zimmerman –>Peter Franchise
Adam Dunn –> Freddie Physical
Josh Willingham –> Judge Wapner
The first three are excellent, while the second two are kind of “meh.” Oh and to that friend to be named later, really get with the program and read the Bog every day.
