Agreement reached on price for Wizards, Verizon Center – The Post
Apparently, the estate of Abe Pollin and Ted Leonsis have come to an agreement on the value of the Washington Wizards and MCI Center — $550 million. Of course, Leonsis already owns 44% of that — I’ll let you do the math.
This news means that we are a step closer to the following:
- Wizards wearing red, white and blue, but I suspect not until they are ready to be good again, just like with the Caps. They won’t be renamed the Bullets, just drop that from you mind.
- better ice quality for the Capitals, who have been a tenant during Leonsis’ ownership. That is a deliverable he *has* to make
- Leverage with his television deals — hello all games in HD!
Hopefully, this will be resolved quickly.
Left unsaid — the D.C. Ticketmaster franchise. Is that still part of the deal?
