Greater Greater Washington has a look at the next generation Metro cars, the 7000 series. Some notes:

• They will only be able to run in 4 and 8 car configurations
• They will look different than the classic Metro design
• There will be a display that shows where the train is currently located, similar to modern New York subway cars

Of course, they have to get who is paying for them worked out.
