Strasburg live-blog: This time it counts – Nationals Journal, The Post
In the biggest thing to happen to Altoona since the Nazis tried to blow up Horseshoe Curve, Harrisburg Senators pitcher Stephen Strasburg, the #1 pick of the 2009 draft by the Washington Nationals, made his regular season pro debut against the Altoona Curve. Here is his line:
5 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K
That was 82 pitches, 56 for strikes. He also doubled in a run. An uneven performance, but he did get the win. Drew Storen got the save. Oh and Strasburg did hit 100 MPH on the radar gun.
