MissChatter to CSN Washington; Nats losing streak at 5

Congratulations go out to my friend Cathy Taylor (aka MissChatter) on her new gig with Comcast SportsNet Washington.

As you may have heard, Comcast SportsNet has vowed to expand their local sports coverage in their respective markets. Now they are expanding their local Nationals coverage even more. I’m joining Mark Zuckerman providing content (stories/photographs) for the CSNWashington.com website (and joining ‘blogger’ Ryan Zimmerman).

It is great to see Cathy getting her Kawl Up. Seeing someone from the Natosphere (though I prefer Natmosphere) go pro is always welcome. Also, good job increasing coverage CSN Washington, especially since you don’t have the Nats broadcast rights.

In on the field news, the Nats lost last night (The Post) to the St. Louis Cardinals despite a rare home run from Wil Nieves and a quality start from John Lannan (his second of 2010?). The offense is missing right now due to injuries, illness, weather, etc., but the starting pitching has been okay. Tyler Clippard (who probably needs some time of) gave up a home run that wound up winning the game for the home team.

The Nats are now 20-20 after this 5 games losing streak. It doesn’t feel good, though it is still ahead of schedule. It must have been all that talk about how the Nats are a respectable franchise (SI.com) now and might be buyers at the deadline (Federal Baseball).

A brief homestand begins tonight with two games with the New York Mets tonight, followed by a weekend interleague series with the hated, subsidized, cowardly Baltimore Orioles. I’m trying to make it to one of the weekend games.
