I guess things are getting back to normal in NatsTown. There are apparently plenty of tickets to Stephen Strasburg’s third Nationals Park start. The Washington Nationals ace, fresh off his first no decision is about to experience his first “typical” summer day in D.C. The temperature for tomorrow’s 4:35 p.m. will be over 95° F. On the field, it might be over 100° F. The excellent, non-humid weather for his first two Nationals Park starts was almost as amazing as his strikeouts. He might have felt like he was still in San Diego. He won’t tomorrow though, it is going to be oppressive weather. Plus, the Kansas City Royals are in town and they haven’t been interesting since Bo Jackson played for them. When it comes down to it, I’m kind of frustrated I paid an extra $15 to buy tickets online instead of just walking up to the window tomorrow.
Last night, the Nats broke a 6-game losing steak by beating KC with two solo homers from Michael Morse and Cristian Guzman of all people. Liván Hernández pitched 7 innings of 1-run ball. Tyler Clippard and Matt Capps sealed the deal out of the bullpen. John Lannan got demoted too, something I understand, but don’t have to be happy about right now.
