ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Not that long ago, fast food chain Chick-Fil-A debuted its Spicy Chicken Sandwich. However, rather than just putting them on the menu, the required “reservations” during the first week. Prospective customers had to sign up at getspicychicken.com. The exclusivity of this offer gave the chain some buzz on twitter and some blogs. Score one for the marketers.
The Spicy Chicken sandwich has been available to the public for over a month. I had a coupon for the Landmark Mall Chick-Fil-A that going to expire, so I thought I’d see if the sandwich was worth the hype. Chick-Fila-A already has the best, as in least processed, fast food chicken sandwiches out there.
My first bite was a spicier version of the regular, juicy Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich. The kick came after I was done chewing. Subsequent bites were not always that spicy — the heat was inconsistent. It was tasty, but no more so than the normal variety. The final bite was pretty spicy though, as if to remind me, that yes this was in fact a spicy sandwich. I think I’d elect to get the normal one most of time though.
Oh and note to the Landmark Mall, its 2010 how about a decent changing station in the men’s room.
