Last week all I that read about Joe Paterno at the Big Ten Kickoff was what I saw in The Inky. Coincidentally, I was the Jersey Shore town that Paterno vacations in, Avalon, and unaware of just how old Paterno was looking and acting (Patriot-News). I did note that nobody asked about this year’s team though. I figured that was the story (or not the story?), but from what I have seen elsewhere, the story was really how old he appeared. One thing I have learned over the years is to never doubt Joe Paterno, so I expect him to be ready for 4-5 miles of pacing on the sidelines on September 4.

In other Paterno news, he has been nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom (CDT) by Rep. Glenn Thompson. I think he will get it.
