I don’t remember watching any meetings between the Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers, who play this Sunday, but I recall that the 1983 was a particularly epic one. The Pack upset the Skins in the highest scoring game in Monday Night Football history, 48-47. It was one of two regular season losses for the Skins that year. They would get routed in Super Bowl XVIII. I think the Packers went 7-9 or 8-8.
The video only includes the first half, I didn’t find anything else about it online, sadly. Hey, NFL Films, get this on Hulu!
Hmmm, a rocket screen that went for six the other way, that happened a couple of times that season.
By the way, I think I like that MNF music better than the regular one. Oh and that is O.J. Simpson in the booth with Frank Gifford and Don Merideth. No Howard Cossell for some reason.
I have another guest prognosticator lined up for Friday’s prediction.
