With the season half over and the non-league schedule completed the Yale Bulldogs (3-2, 2-0) head down the Northeast Corridor to take on the University of Pennsylvania Quakers (3-2, 2-0)tomorrow at Franklin Field for a noon kickoff, televised nationally on VERSUS.

This will be the third trip to Pennsylvania in four weeks and the Bulldogs are hoping they are more successful in Philadelphia than in the Lehigh Valley. They lost to Lafayette last weekend (Lafayette College football team bounces back with solid win over YaleThe Express-Times, Bulldogs Fall at Lafayette, 28-19Yale Sports Publicty , the Yale Daily News story was broken which is why I never posted a recap) 28-19 after losing two weeks earlier to Lehigh.

Saturday’s tilt is a big one with Yale and Penn tied with Harvard for first in the Ivy League. The winner stays in prime position for the Ivy League title, while the loser will need help and likely won’t be able to win the Ancient Eight outright.
