Big Capitals-Sabres game tonight

There is a big game in Chinatown tonight as the Washington Capitals host the Buffalo Sabres at Verizon Center. The two teams are battling for 8th place in the NHL’s Eastern Conference. This isn’t what we expected this year. Third star of the week LW Alex Ovechkin will probably need to get at least once puck past second star G Ryan Miller for the Caps to win. The best case scenario is the Caps find a way to win in regulation, even without an Ovi goal.

Over the years, the Buffalo fans have developed a reputation for their boorish behavior. There will be a few there tonight I’m sure which means the “Let’s go Buff-a-lo” chant is going to be heard a few times, especially if the Sabres get the lead. Here’s how I deal with it:

Sabres fans: “LET’S GO BUFF-A-LO”

Caps fans: “BRETT HULL! BRETT HULL!

Sabres fans: “LET’S GO BUFF-A-LO”

Caps fans: “WIDE RIGHT! WIDE RIGHT!”

Sabres fans: “LET’S GO BUFF-A-LO”

Caps fans: “WHERE’S THURMAN’S HELMET?!”

Those tend to be pretty disarming. ๐Ÿ˜€

There is of course, Super Bowl XXVI as well.
