WASHINGTON, D.C. — A few scenes from Saturday night’s Washington Nationals – Baltimore Orioles batting practice which I got to attend…

Adam LaRoche in the cage — who’d have thought he would be carrying the Nats so far? While in the community outreach portion of Blogger Day, we learned he has been very involved with the Nats efforts with military veterans rehabbing at Walter Reed. Last year, during Nats road trips, vets would come down to Nationals Park to rehab and LaRoche would be right there with them.

Bryce Harper hits a lot of line drives…HARD. He got under a few and put them in the second deck, but for the most part he was lining it hard.

Bob Carpenter TV play-by-play man. Nice guy. After hearing a Presidents vs. Pierogi’s story from the Let Teddy Win blogger, Carpenter added something along the lines of “I stand corrected frequently” with a laugh.

Stephen Strasburg was hitting the ball well in BP. I thought to myself — he’ll hit a homer before the year is out.

Original Nat, Luis Ayala, embraces Jesus Flores.
Adam Jones, their centerfielder was talking to the MASN cameraman about the President’s Race. That caught the attention of the blogger for Let Teddy Win of course. Jones wondered aloud when more recent presidents would be included. He also noted that as a child, he thought the candidates would race each other — as in the a race in the front yard.
The Let Teddy Win blogger offered Jones a “Let Teddy Win” button which Jones excepted. He wore it for the rest of BP. If he didn’t play for such an awful organization that hates D.C. and the Nats, I’d like him.
