Strasburg unfazed by rain delay, strikes out 10 Braves, Nats win again

Stephen Strasburg is just making it harder for Washington Nationals fans. He struck out 10 Atlanta Braves last night, even after enduring a 51 minute rain delay, the third in as many days. Another nine minutes and Davey Johnson and/or Mike Rizzo would not have let him back out. Strasburg came back stronger. Strasburg is focusing on what he can control, pitching, and avoiding the noise (The Post)

Delayed dominance for StrasburgCSN Washington

C Jesus Flores was a hero too, hitting a 3-run homer. He also gunned down Jason Heyward at second base after a passed ball to end the sixth.

Davey Johnson doesn’t want to be NL manager of year — the last time he won that honor, he was “run out of town.” (JASON REID, The Post)

Thomas Boswell – still excited.

Attendance was 33,388, about 12,000 more than Monday night. Crisis averted, we’re a baseball town again! I had a feeling it would be good though:

The Nats are now 77-46 and lead the NL East by 7 games. The Braves go back to Atlanta no better than 6 games back of D.C.

The Sunday Post story I was quoted in went up on DC Sports Bog yesterday: Nats bloggers and first place. Yup, a lost opportunity to talk up Charlie & Dave and provide testimony on the bad faith of the Baltimore Orioles.
