Just got back from RFK, it was fun to be with friends and all, but the baseball got pretty awful after five innings. It was just a big Evil (Angelo$), Cowardice (Selig), Incompetence (Bowden) cocktail. Some really quick observations:

  • I don’t do awards/punishments like other blogs, but if I did, Darlye Ward would be getting the horizontal thumb/vertical forefinger award for misplaying a line drive in the sixth that opened the floodgates. Even a gimpy Jose Guillen can probably field that one.
  • The Nats were waaaaaay too nice to the opposition. Naming the fan of the game a guy in an O’s hat, even if he was wearing a Nats jersey is just stupid. It is hard to respect a franchise suffering from battered-wife syndrome.
  • I don’t know if I will feel like posting tomorrow’s headlines.
