Nationals Go QuietlyThe Post
WASHINGTON, D.C. — So, the Nats pretty much lost an ugly game where they could not hit or field, and after the fifth inning, could not pitch. Mike O’Connor was solid, but he threw too many pitches and gave up two runs in the sixth. The first was avoidable, but Daryle Ward misplayed a liner into right-center. So, what did the braintrust do to address that, you ask? They demoted Ryan Church to AA-Harrisburg (The Wash. Times). I don’t get it; what do they have aganist him? I know he is having some trouble right now, but at least he can play the outfield.

After O’Connor left, Frank Robinson pretty much gave up any chance for victory by putting Felix Rodriguez into pitch two innings. Perhaps he knew that there was no chance to overcome the deficit, so at least he did not waste the rest of his bullpen. Rodriguez clinched the loss by giving up three runs.

Mr. Anna Benson pitched a complete game, yielding one run on Alfonso Soriano’s homer.

Blah, blah, blah. In conclusion, blah.

Robinson special to both sidesThe Wash. Times
Robby’s becoming less and less special each passing week. I respect the man, but as the manager — not so much anymore. Great idea in the article though:

But there was little to really care about for fans from either city about this series, unless Washington fans showered the field with remote controls to voice their anger over Orioles owner Peter Angelos holding the broadcast rights to their team and keeping them off the air.

I might have to go Sunday just to do that…
