Redding was sick

Remember back on March 19 when The Post reported that Tim Redding said “I hope I feel like crap for 34 starts.” Well, he is 1/34th of the way there! Redding was recovering from food poisoning:

From the way Redding dominated Philadelphia’s mighty lineup, you would never know that he was sick all day Tuesday. He ate oysters for the first time ever after Monday’s victory, and he vomited six times the following day.

“I don’t think they agreed with me,” he said with a smirk.

Redding overcame a headache and dehydration and pitched one of the best games of his seven-year career.

All that despite spending Tuesday in bed suffering the effects of some bad food he ate the previous night.

“I had oysters for the first time in my life,” he said. “I don’t think they agree with me.”

I don’t see the appeal of oysters either, Tim, but have some more two nights before your next star so you will be ready.

Since feeling bad gets it done for Redding, the next time I have some chicken in the fridge too long, I’m going to offer it up to him. If you have a sniffle, offer to hang out with him.

Final game of the series starts at 1:05 this afternoon. Central Jersey native RHP Jason Bergmann goes against SE Pennsylvania native LHP Jamie Moyer, though I believe it was the “Pennsylvania colony” back then.
