Nats Fall to Cardinals; Cordero Placed on DL – The Post
Nats rally too late against Cardinals – The Wash. Times
Looper’s solid start is salvaged – Post-Dispatch
Watching LHP Odalis Perez pitch last night was an unpleasant experience. Most of his pitches seemed outside and the ones that were actually over the plate wound up hits. He left after four innings having given up five runs.
The bullpen kept St. Louis off the scoreboard for the rest of the evening. The Nats rallied for three runs in the 7th to pull within one, but couldn’t get another runner home. They had another opportunity in the ninth, but Felipe López struck out for the third time. I was already sound asleep, clearly a good decision.

Nationals Report – The Post
OF Elijah Dukes has a court date later in the month. He may be off the DL by then. Speaking of the DL, closer Chad Cordero was put on it retroactive to March 27 because of shoulder tendinitis. He cannot return until next Friday at the earliest. American hero John Lannan will take his roster spot and start on Sunday. $5 million disappointment Dmriti Young flew back to Washington to have his back examined, so a trip to the DL is not out of the question.
