All or nothing for the Captials tonight

Caps Need To Make A PointThe Post
Caps’ hopes hinge on finaleThe Wash. Times
It is really simple for the Capitals — win or lose in overtime and they are in the playoffs. Carolina’s surprising loss to Florida (The News & Observer, Raliegh, N.C.) last night means the Capitals need one standings point to win the division and enter the playoffs as the third seed. If they can’t win or at least make to overtime, it is all over.

Minor Leaguer Makes a Major ImpactThe Post
A win tonight almost certainly clinches the Jack Adams Award, given to “the coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success” for Bruce Boudreau. The turnaround under him has been remarkable. When he was hired on Thanksgiving, the Capitals were 6-14-1. Now, they are 42-31-8 and a point away from the playoffs. What an incredible turnaround.

D.C.’s most valuableThe Wash. Times
If the Caps get a point tonight, Alex Ovechkin probably clinches a piece of hardware for himself too. With his 65 goals and league leading 112 points heading into tonight, how can anyone argue that Ovechkin doesn’t deserve the Hart Memorial Trophy? The annual award is “given to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team” and who has been more valuable than the Great 8?
