Another one-run game, a third consecutive loss

The Nationals lost another close one, falling in St. Louis 5-4 to the Cardinals. Matt Chico went six and gave up four runs, but only allowed two walks. Reliever Jesus Colome had another rough outing, walking three over 1 2/3 and giving up an unearned run on a Jesus Flores passed ball. Flores later hit a two-run homer, but it was not enough. Nick Johnson also homered. Cardinals SS Adam Kennedy might have made the play of the game by robbing Austin Kearns of base hit in the fourth. Kennedy also got the force at second to stall a rally.

Bob Carpenter talked about the Cardinals a lot too. He did point out that the grand designs of redevelopment around the new Busch Stadium have yet to be released, unlike D.C.

Anita Marks, despite MASN advertisements suggesting otherwise, is still not hot.
