CATCHING UP WITH PENN STATE SPORTS

PSU expels two studentsCDT
University banishes Nittany Lion, ex-teammate after incident with arrows
E.Z. Smith is gone and so is former player Mike Southern. You have to wonder what happened on the night in question:

SMITH: I have the best idea ever!

SOUTHERN: Better than standing in broad daylight with an open container two Saturdays in a row while underage?

SMITH: Ya, even better than that — I want to shoot this bow in the apartment.

SOUTEHRN: What a great idea! Why, one of those arrows can kill a large mammal from hundreds of feet away, that would be great in a confined space like our apartment.

SMITH: Let’s do it!

We really do not need these knuckleheads (file photo) on our football team or at our alma mater. This is a time when the issue is not so much the damage done (though it could have been much, much worse), but the intelligence of these kinds of decisions. I am quite pleased to see Judicial Affairs kick someone out for sheer stupidity.

Lions thump rival PittThe Collegian
Penn State and Pitt had not played each other in baseball in over a decade until yesterday and Penn State continued to dominate the Panthers, winning 9-0. The game was played at Blair County Ballpark, near Altoona. I have never been to that ballpark, but it looks really cool from i-99/US 220. Over three thousand fans showed up.

PSU defense looking to give offense some helpCDT
LB Paul Posluszny does not think the ’04 defense came up with enough turnovers or scores.

Sad, but true. They really need to turn things around, this is getting ugly.

Just a reminder that it is just TWO weeks until the Blue White Game.
