THOMAS BOSWELL – Middle Ground Is a Shaky Place for a Struggling Franchise to Land – The Post
3B Ryan Zimmerman and the Nationals met halfway to avoid arbitration, a good move for both parties since the “face of the franchise” is under club control for another couple of years. For Zimmerman, this means he gets a chance to be a part of a solid lineup for the first time since his rookie year. He has an excellent chance to have another big season, like his rookie year. For the Nationals, it allows them to further evaluate Zimmerman and see if he continues getting better and stays healthy. To me this is a win-win.
