TWO & ONE WITH TEMPLE; JOEPA VISITS PITTSBURGH
PSU adds Temple for ’06 – Post-Gazette
Penn State and Temple have a verbal agreement to play each other three times in four years, starting in 2006. Included in the deal is that one of those games would be in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Iggles, which is great news for Penn State fans. A game in Philly is basically a home game for Penn State, only closer for those of us on the I-95 corridor.
Paterno puts career on line – Post-Gazette
The lede says it all:
This time, if Penn State labors through another disappointing season, Joe Paterno won’t blame his players (because now, he finally likes his team’s talent) and he won’t blame his assistants (because after all, he recently pleaded to keep his staff intact). One more losing season — which would be Penn State’s fifth in six years — will only prompt Paterno to blame himself.
Gene Collier – Football’s future troubles Paterno – Post-Gazette
The issues brought up by Paterno are quite valid and things we have heard previously. Most of interesting of all though is Collier suggesting that Pitt should have probably taken Penn State up on a playing a 2 (at Penn State) to 1 (at Pitt) deal.
