Strasburg signing is not one my defining Nats moments

Hooray, Stephen Strasburg is signed to be a member of the Washington Nationals. I am happy about it, but I do not think that is one of my greatest Nats moments.

In short order here are my top 5:

    5. June 12, 2005 vs. Seattle (surprisingly, no blog post)
My bachelor party, during that magical month when the Nationals were winning 12 of
13 on a homestand and in first place.

    4. July 4, 2006 vs. Florida
Ryan Zimmerman hits a walk-off home run to win on Independence Day.

    3. April 3, 2005 at Philadelphia
    The first Nats game ever.

    2. September 29, 2004
Expos move to D.C. announced at the City Museum

    1. March 30, 2008 vs. Atlanta
Zimmerman hits a walk-off home run on Opening Night at Nationals Park’s first game

Signing #1 picks is expected and only because of Aaron Crow (still unsigned by the team that drafted him this year, Kansas City) last year, did the anxiety of this year happen this intensely. Saying signing your #1 draft pick is a defining moment is like celebrating a college football recruit in February and sets too low a bar.
