Report: Ted Leonsis, Pollins come to agreement on Wizards, Verizon Center value

Agreement reached on price for Wizards, Verizon CenterThe Post
Apparently, the estate of Abe Pollin and Ted Leonsis have come to an agreement on the value of the Washington Wizards and MCI Center — $550 million. Of course, Leonsis already owns 44% of that — I’ll let you do the math.

This news means that we are a step closer to the following:

  • Wizards wearing red, white and blue, but I suspect not until they are ready to be good again, just like with the Caps. They won’t be renamed the Bullets, just drop that from you mind.
  • better ice quality for the Capitals, who have been a tenant during Leonsis’ ownership. That is a deliverable he *has* to make
  • Leverage with his television deals — hello all games in HD!

Hopefully, this will be resolved quickly.

Left unsaid — the D.C. Ticketmaster franchise. Is that still part of the deal?
