D.C. Seeks to Buy Land for ‘Ballpark District’ – The Post
With several lawsuits seeking to block the stadium’s land acquisition now dismissed, DC is now looking more intensely at the ballpark design and what kind of venue to create. To wit, five acres of additional land that could host restaurants, stores, etc. on top of the Nationals’ new ballpark. Sounds like a plan to me! Even better, it has Linda Cropp’s backing!

The opening paragraph about spells out the Nats’ chances of making the playoffs this season. Me, I’m as disappointed as everyone else that we’ve fallen apart halfway through the season, but I’m still very happy that the Nats are here, and my own expectations for their inaugural season didn’t include a playoff spot.
