I have today off. One the things I have gotten done today is an upgrade of our cable TV package. That’s right, we’ve lept back into the 1980s and gotten ESPN and local sports networks again. Anyhow, a contractor came by for the upgrade. I was expecting he would have change a cable or something, but all he actually did was instruct me how to use my remote control to find the new channels. It took about 90 seconds. Now is it just me or would it have made a whole lot more sense for them to email instructions or tell me over the phone? If I had taken off work specifically for that I would be really annoyed. Also, how cost effective is it for them to send a contractor, who can’t be charging them less than $50 an hour, to supervise this procedure? Dumb.
