Last night the State Theatre on W. College Ave., State College, reopened after being shuttered for over five years (CDT). In its previous incarnation, the State was a moviehouse. Oddly enough, I never saw a movie at the State when I was an undergrad. I barely ever went to the movies and when I did it was usually at Cinema 5.
The debut of the State as a community performance venue featured Mike Reid (CMT), who is probably the only Outland Trophy winner with a Grammy. Lots of dignataries were there, including the governor.
Here is a montage of the final days of restoration.
