It has been a while since I blogged about the football fortunes of the alma mater, so most of what I am posting won’t even have links since many of the articles have already disappeared from online.
Right now, there is a lot of rumors swirling around about a brawl that took place in Meridian Apts. (nee Gateway) involving many football players. No charges have been filed yet, but it sounds bad, even if little comes from it. I will have more to say when there is more on-the-record information. Joe Paterno is report idly very, very upset.
On the field, Dan Connor is moving to middle linebacker. I feel better about him in the middle than I did Paul Posluszny. I expect less of a learning curve from Connor.
Austin Scott appears to have the starting tailback position locked down heading into his final year of eligibility. He was highly touted, but got into the doghouse and the trainers room a lot, creating the opportunity for Tony Hunt to become the second leading rusher in Nittany Lions history. Scott is speaking like a player who had the epiphany of “I better do what the coach says in every aspect of my life.” We shall see.
