Nats draft Stephen Strasburg, Drew Storen. Jason Kobernus, Trevor Holder

Nationals Select Strasburg With No. 1 PickThe Post
The Nationals get their man – StrasburgThe Wash. Times
The Nationals went ahead and drafted the consensus #1 pick, Stephen Strasburg of San Diego State. He is said to have the best stuff since Mark Prior, Ben McDonald, Tood VanPopel, Brien Taylor, etc. Yes, that is a not exactly the best company to be in, none of them pitched on a pennant winner. That being said, the Nationals did the right thing in drafting him. Now they have to do the right thing and sign him — credibility is at stake here.

RHP Drew Storen was picked at #10, a little high, so the Nats appeared to factor signability here.

Jason Kobernus is a 2B from Berkeley. Trevor Holder is another pitcher.
