Nats Managing Just Fine, Win Fourth Straight Game – The Post
Nats’ quiet efficiency extends streak – The Wash. Times
Look who figured out how to win! The Nationals took their fourth game in a row last night, beating the Brewers 8-3 in Milwaukee. CF Nyjer Morgan, hitting .389 since being traded to Washington from Pittsburgh, led off with a home run. He later had a two-run double in the 5th. Collin Balestar got through six innings with lots of flyball outs and no walks. Adam Dunn hit a monster homer (nationals.com video), #26, that left Miller Park on one hop.
The boys in the curly W hats are remembering how to play baseball again. Now, some fans are concerned they’ll play too well and cost themselves the #1 pick next year since their “cushion” between themselves and second worst San Diego is down to seven games. I don’t think it will be a problem, especially since some of the young starters won’t be pitching in September. Let’s just enjoy the wins when we get them.
