If MASN fires Rob Dibble, I’ll go to an Orioles game

Rob Dibble is easily the worst baseball analyst I have ever experienced. His talking over play-by-play announcer Bob Carpenter, grunting during big moments and meathead homerism (for a team that he never played for in a city he has no natural connection to) is so terrible that I watch games on mute most of the time. I don’t think it is irresponsible to speculate that Orioles-owned MASN hired him specifically because he’s terrible in an effort to slight the Washington Nationals and their fans. However, I’m willing to give MASN a chance, this one time, to make it right.

This may seems surprising because I’m perhaps the most outspoken Nats blogger about the general awfulness of Peter Angelos and the Orioles owning the Nats TV rights. It is and will always be a corrupt bargain rooted in the Angelos cowardice and lack of faith in Baltimore fans — he got the Nats rights by claiming that they were moving into his market. Odd that I couldn’t get Baltimore TV or a Sun at the local newspaper boxes in his market.

Anyway, where was I — oh yes, I was about to say that I would end my boycott of Camden Yards (dating back to before the Nats arrived) for one game if MASN fires Dibble within the next month. That would be such a show of good faith that I could reward Angelos with a ticket purchase for a Nats or Yankees visit. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

MASN, you are on the clock.

FIRE DIBBLE!
