Sponsor sought for RFK StadiumThe Wash. Times
I have been wondering if they were going to try and sell the name. Apparently, it will retain RFK Stadium in the name, being Blank Field At RFK Stadium. Proceeds of the deal will go to youth programs in the District. Also mentioned in the article is that a design firm has not been selected and Natwar Ghandi, D.C.’s chief financial officer, will be giving his estimate on the land acquisition and environmental remediation costs for the ballpark site. Next week is going to have lots of news too and hopefully it is good.

Another thing, I half expect Angelo$ to get involved with the bidding for naming rights, he will want his name on the stadium.

No Deal Yet for MLB, OriolesThe Post
My gut feel is that Peter Angelo$ is dragging this out as long as he can, so do not expect to know where you can watch our team until about April 3.

By the way, you can watch our team play the whiners at 1:05 on Comcast Sports Net.

Trades unlikely before openerThe Wash. Times
Maybe Jim Bowden is content at this point because he realizes that he can get his name in the paper more without trading anyone than if he did, since it is so unusual for him.

Escobar Goes on Disabled ListThe Post
OF Alex Escobar is on the DL with a strained right quadriceps muscle. This gives the Nats time to decide if they want him on the 25 man roster. Also, C Keith Osik was released, leaving the two catchers to head north.

Hammonds promises to returnThe Wash. Times
I do not think anyone but Jeffrey Hammonds will be too broken up to learn he is headed to AAA New Orleans.

DID YOU NOTICE? MLB redesigned the team sites the other day and the shop link on nationals.com takes you to the Expos store.

Timeout: Fay VincentThe Wash. Examiner
The last real baseball commissioner is interviewed about D.C. and Baltimore. He seems happy that D.C. has a team, but thinks little of RFK and believes Angelo$ needs compensation.
