Wilkerson hits for cycle, Nats even record with 7 – 3 win over Phillies

Take that Clifford! We’re even now.

I listened to the last few innings of the game last night. I almost turned it off after the Phillies went up as soon as I turned it on, but I stuck with it and my patience was rewarded with four Nats runs.

The broadcasters Charlie Slowes and Dave Shea are okay, but do not come across as anything really special. That can change — Southern Californians hated Vin Scully at first.

Ryan Moore blogged the whole game at Distinguished Senators. Lots of comments for other bloggers too. Having set precedent, I guess we can look forward to Ryan doing this another 160 times this season.

Wilkerson Hits For the Cycle, Guillen Homers: Nationals 7, Phillies 3
Write-up of the first win. Here is The Inqy’s take on the game, which had the lowest attendance in Citizen’s Bank Park history.

Nats’ Guillen Provides The FireThe Post
Jose Guillen got a homer, but also argued with an ump in the 9th. Serenity now, serenity now….

Mike WiseAn Adaptable Player, Right Down to His NicknameThe Post
Brad Wilkerson is off to an amazing start as everybody’s favorite Nat. I ran the Wise column because he bashes Peter Angelo$ too, so let that be a hint to sportswriters out there who want their article/column displayed first.

Quick blurb that mentions the Nats jersey is the best selling jersey since spring training. Cool.

Groin injury keeps Church out of lineupThe Wash. Times
Ryan Church is likely to miss today’s game too. This time it might because of pitching matchups and not his injured groin.

Also, in the article, a reminder that TBS will have some Nats vs. Braves games telecast and Linda Cropp wants another look at costs of land acquisition.

Nats’ stadium price tag draws fireThe Wash. Examiner
More on the latest Cropp situation, though it looks like David Catania was the one doing most of the pushing. I wish they would get the shovel in the ground so we could not have to care about the D.C. council ever again. Like I have been saying, this is not over yet.

In case you were worried that you would not be able to read something Bowden dictated to a reporter, worry no more.
