Scott goes down with knee injury – The Collegian
A number of Pennsylvania papers have articles today about Austin Scott’s apparent knee injury, but only The Collegian got around Penn State’s lack of disclosure by calling Scott’s mother for specifics. According to her the injury is a MCL sprain that will sideline the senior running back for six weeks.
The biggest drawback of this injury is it takes away depth from the Lions backfield. So far, Scott has not lived up to his advance billing and in a 100 yard effort in the Orange Bowl, he showed why Tony Hunt has been the starter. Scott cannot block and Hunt can. Last year’s offense relied heavily on the tailback picking up blitzes, something Hunt executed well, while Scott did not. Hunt also has a real aversion to being tackled, which resulted in an extra yard or two on many runs.
