New Owner, Same Result For Nationals – The Post
The Nats rallied from 5-0, but blew it in the ninth to lose 6-5 to Florida. That is the ninth loss in the last eleven games. They have one exactly one game at home as of May 3.

Marion Barry blesses the Lerner press conference with his presence, insuring a glorious 1,000-year reign for the Nationals. Check out my photo gallery of the event.

Some more thoughts:
Well thank god Marion Barry, Vincent Orange, and Jim Bowden are happy with the Lerners, I don’t know how I could accept this ownership group without their endorsement.
Interestingly enough, Barry and Orange were the only to council members there. They were introduced to polite applause.
Adrian Fenty had this to say: “There’s too much to gain for everybody, even though the process wasn’t the greatest,” Fenty said. “It’s a great time for a new fresh start. We need to get momentum back for the Nationals.”
Stan Kasten announced he would be available to District officials, promising to give out his phone numbers. Kasten got a good laugh from the crowd when he told WTOP’s Marc Plotkin that privilege was reserved for people who were elected.
Bill Ladson lives up to his nickname, “Rocket.” The guy moves fast.
I did not see any MASN crews over there.

I asked Charlie Brotman why he was not doing the p.a. duties on Opening Day. “They wanted the regular guy.”
I had no problems getting into the press conference.
I don’t think there were any more than ten fans in attendance.
A fair number of people, including credentialed media, were badmouthing Barry under their breath.
